A custom microsite created for Synchrony Bank

During the lockdown of 2020, I had the opportunity to create a site for a comprehensive online feature for Synchrony Bank. The data was based on a survey called “Money & Saving” from Money.com that was to be used to create an immersive online experience. The information was expectedly dense and was calling our for a unique visual interpretation. My approach to visualizing this information was to fully leverage all of the brand’s robust color palette, apply dynamic typography, and use illustration to bring the themes to life. Spanish illustrator and frequent collaborator Edmon De Haro came to mind immediately. His work is brilliant at conveying complex ideas in fun visual metaphors. The data was organized in a very linear way, so I adopted a horizontal scroll approach with enormous numbers to divide and order the sections of information. We animated the illustrations to add motion to the page and guide a reader through the sequence. The finished site resulted in substantial increases in engagement, time spent metrics, and was nominated for two digital design awards.
